Okay, so I got a good idea for a book last night sometime when I was dreaming. Its about this chef who used to cook at a high-level restaurant, but the head chef, who was personally cooking a meal for a VIP, made a critical mistake and put the blame on his employee. The employee accepted the blame, on the promise that he would be compensated by his boss, but afterward the head chef welched on the deal. That way, if he tried to tell the public or the VIP the truth, hed just look like he was trying to save face and lie about what had happened. Some time later, after hed found a job at a Chinese restaurant, he gets a call on the stores line from that same VIP, a big name actor out of Hollywood. He wants the guy to come and work for him as a personal chef and live in his guest house, with the only stipulation being that he travel with him. One night, the guy is looking outside a window as his new boss arrives home, and sees him pull something suspiciously body-shaped out of his trunk. The next day, the actor takes the car to a body shop to get work done on it. The chef, as time goes on, discovers what appears to be a dark, foreboding side to his new employer, and uncovers evidence that he had killed someone with his car, stashed the body, and tried to cover it up. Near the end of the book, the actor would reveal to the chef that the entire damn time hed been using the chef to practice his method acting in preparations for a role in which hed be a psycho killer, using the justification that if he could fool someone in real life, then hed be able to play the part on screen. How does that sound?
