Okay, so I have been a memeber of this board for a couple of weeks now and have yet to post more then a thanks for the ad. I have to be honest, there is motive behind me being here. Pictures and info. I am a scale modeler. I have watched air racing on TV and video for years. This last September was my first trip to Reno and yes, the bug bit HARD! It is my intention to build three aircraft from the experience that I had in Reno last month. 1. Voodoo 2. Strega 3. Rare Bear These will all be in 1:32 scale and as close to accurate as humanly possible. Here is my problem, I know nothing about these planes except they are two P-51s and an F8F-2. As I plan to start with Voodoo I have a couple of questions. First off, what model P-51 did Voodoo start its life as? I want to start with as close to correct as possible as I have a feeling if I start off in the wrong direction its just going to telescope from there. I know the airframe is highly modified. How much are the wings shortened? Is it the standard P-51 propeller? What is different in the cockpit? A whole bunch I am sure to be done, just trying to get a good starting point. Anybody willing to help with info and/or photos would be greatly appreciated!
