Okay so I know Im getting a lot of shit for my last post, and I did make it in a more anger driven state, but let me elaborate a little bit... For the record, in my last post, I wasnt attacking Maisie for her views on snobby book fans who intentionally spoil things show watchers. I dont support that type of thing and if anyone took my comments against her as support for that faction of the book fans, I did not mean it that way. To the contrary, I find those types of book fans and the raiding and all that bullshit stupid and I dont blame anyone for taking issue with it. Theres no need for this book fan vs. show fan mentality. That said, the book fan vs. show fan mentality is exactly why I take major issue with Maisies latter comments. By exclaiming the delight she takes in pissing off book fans, she is just reinforcing this idea that book and show fans are inherently at odds with each other and is honestly no better than the snobby spoiler shouting book fans in that regard. Of course, this is not even getting into her presuming to speak for the production and writing of the show which she has no part in. Could it just be an incorrectly phrased statement? Taken out of context by the article? Possibly. But dont even start with the shes 17 because that defense is used by fans of a certain fictional character we all hate here... -Matt
