Okay, so I know its early (probably too early), but Im getting excited and wanted to start planning. Normally I wait until at least after the 11th, but in order to ensure everyone knows about the events, I want to get the word out sooner than later for people to keep in the back of their minds. A) Holiday Cookie Train. As with last year, I would like to launch the 2015 cookie train. How it works: Households interested in participating will email me with their household name and address along with any allergies and days they may not be home due to holidays. Each household will be put on a list, and that list MUST be passed on with each delivery. The person in possession of the list will make up their favourite holiday treat and deliver it WITH the recipe to another household on the list and cross of the name of the receiving peoples. The receiving peoples will then create their favourite treat...and so on and so on. The turn over time on the train is 24 hours, so we ask that anyone on the list be prepared for the train to stop at their house on any given day! This event allows people to share some holiday joy, some yummy treats and possibly add some new recipes to their favourites B) Caroling Around Town - Its my understanding that there is a gathering at some point for caroling. What I suggest is taking this a bit further, and instead of going door to door caroling, having a caroling parade. This parade would start in 3 or 4 different areas of the village. People interested in participating will meet at the location most convenient for them, and walk with the caroling group singing their songs till reaching the meeting point, where everyone can join together for some group singing. So, those are my thoughts. Yup...early, I know. But like I said, Im getting pretty excited and I have self control issues!
