Okay, so Im doing the laundry and I am singing a Hanukkah to myself as I work! Probably because tonight our grade school crowd is getting together and I am excited to see my classmates from the late 50s and early 60s. Our school was probably a 60/40 split on Christians and Jews and we all embraced our differences instead of finding a means of separation. As Helene Friedman once said I loved learning the different songs and I sang my heart out just as much for each new song I learned. Im with Helene, those Hanukkah songs are part of my early beginnings and I love each and every one of them. Maybe singing them in my head in September in the laundry room isnt the best example but they are embedded in my inner being and Im so he excited to have them filed in my diminishing memory bank! We were ONE as children and this group will always be as ONE. We embrace our differences as we embrace each other!
