Okay so THIS is the last thing Im going to post about Roundhouse Ray. Its so good I had to give it its own slot. Its a comment from Deborah Jacobs and my Glad I Have A Diverse Group of Smart & Thoughtful Friends file: I dont think that were going to help get more [domestic violence] incidents reported if the threat of humiliation, loss of income, etc. comes with it. We need some kind of consistent punishment guidelines to address violence against women, men, cars, dogs, etc in professional sports. In addition, especially for many of the men who come into professional sports from backgrounds of poverty and (therefore in the community) violence, we need support for counseling and help so they can change. We all deserve second chances and black folks in particular get precious few. Depending on the circumstances, the response to first-time offenders should include punishment, counseling and help, goals for change, and then re-instatement.
