Okay, so here is a great story that has me smiling ear to ear! We have the sweetest 85 year old lady that comes here to New Beginnings. She just had her 96 visit today. She has been coming for 6 of the 7 months that we have been open. She always comes in to walk on the treadmill. She doesnt just stroll she huffs it. Usually at least a mile sometimes more. Well today she finished her brisk walk and casually headed over to the weight equipment. She jumps right on the row machine. For a moment it took me back.... Mind you she has never ventured away from the treadmill and has made it clear that she has never weight lifted. I ran right over and started teaching her the machine and then asked if she wanted to try another. In all we got about six different exercises in and with each one she just amazed herself with her strength and giggled about the muscles she was feeling. She reminded me of a child in a candy shop! It was like seeing all these exercises for the first time again through her eyes. I have such an amazing job! I get to experience first with people all the time and I am reminded by inspirational people like this woman that life is amazing at all ages and fitness levels. It is never too late to start making a difference in your quality of life.
