Okay...so, if an artist gives me goosebumps upon an immediate listen, I kind of become obsessed..Jarrod Lawson has officially done this. I have not put his album down in over a week. Literally, I have listened to it EVERY single day and I am so excited about this artist I can hardly contain myself!! Honestly, I could probably write an entire blog about his album and what Ive learned so far about him as an artist. Thats right, when I find an artist that strikes me- its on!! Gotta know as much as possible...smh...THIS guy....my GOODNESSSSSSSS!!! Havent been this excited about an artist in years. I posted one of his songs the moment I heard just ONE of his songs. Well, now I know the album almost backwards, and Im venting again!! Just flew back from the east coast and kept this song on repeat. The lyrics, the harmonies, the music arrangements, the subtle moments, the tone, the progressions, the mood....everything about it is RIGHT! And after learning that it took him over 10 years of writing and over 4 years of recording his new album, yep...you can tell because the level of detail and nuance is EXTREME!!!! His album is a music heads candy store! Jarrod- you are a BEAST!!! I am so excited for you and the contribution that youre making to music, particularly soul music.
