Okay, so its getting down to the wire, and for those of you who dont know, its probably time. Im getting weight loss surgery on the 8th of September. Im excited and irritable, the latter because this is the first day of subsisting entirely on protein shakes, which shall be my only meals until two weeks after the surgery. Sucky, yes, but worth the end result. I wish I had the willpower to lose the weight naturally, like a certain awesome cousin I could mention. Exercise is not my purview, however, and with a nasty case of PCOS and an insatiable love of bacon cheeseburgers, this is the only way I can honestly envision losing weight in a substantial, lasting way. It would be a bit embarrassing to air such shortcomings, but theyre really rather obvious, and Im sure admitting it builds character or something. Ive done a lot of research on this, just so yall know. The doc is a very good one with lots of successful laparoscopic surgeries under his belt, and Im doing absolutely everything that theyve told me to do, up to and including quitting smoking a month ago. The risk is exceedingly minimal, and the results are going to be significant, as long as I do what Im supposed to do. I also have no great illusions about those significant results. Im never going to wear a bikini or win any beauty contests, but it WILL improve my general health, make me feel more energetic, hopefully increase my lifespan, and slightly improve my chances of pregnancy. Cheap at twice the price, I think, even though Ill still have to deprive the world of my services as an underwear model. The next year or so promises to be an adventure! Hard on the wardrobe, too.
