Okay so just to set the record straight on the injured beagle - TopicsExpress

Okay so just to set the record straight on the injured beagle puppy on which a lot of posts have been made about. Firstly people have posted that he hasnt received veterinary attention; he has that is why his leg is bandaged, secondly he is currently receiving pain medication. Now to explain what actually happened; the three beagle puppies we had were all playing in the pen together and the two siblings jumped on his leg at the same time in different areas causing a green stick fracture, he was taken to the vet to be X-rayed and treated accordingly, after spending the night at the vets he was picked up along with the pain medication to be given daily, the instructions for care on his bandage was that it was not to get wet as if it did it could contract around the leg and cause further damage, due to this we were concerned about how to administer water to him as we could not simply leave a bowl of water in with him. We at this point consulted with our vet as he obviously needed to be restrained in his movements and needed around the clock care to ensure he received water every few hours and the vet agreed with the suggestion to keep him in the store in one of our pens to ensure the best care could be given to him. He has been taken home every single night and cared for by a member of our staff, while the shop was closed and being renovated he stayed the boss at his house. Today when our store reopened the pup was returned to the store as he needed a check up and to be re bandage at the vets. When the vets closed he was returned to the store so we could continue his care. At this point clearly a photo was taken and posted on the Westfield page with ill an ill informed post. Hope this clears things up for everyone
