Okay...so now onto the Empower Music Awards Honorable Mention. It was for my song Stand As You Are Able. When I first received the news, I must admit I was disappointed because I didnt make it into the awards as a REAL finalist but as I took a look at some of the other names who also ONLY received Honorable Mentions, I decided I was still in good company. For those of you who are familiar with New Thought music artists, some of the names youll see in the Honorable Mentions are pretty big players in the New Thought world, so its nice to at least see my name in print alongside theirs. I shared this piece of news with my grand daughter Haylee, (yeah, I know this music page is really supposed to only be about my music...but today just happens to be Haylees 6th birhtday...!!!) she asked me if I had entered her song, Simple Song in the contest. When I confessed that I hadnt, she seemed sure that I should enter Simple Song next year and that it would undoubtedly secure me a spot in the winners circle! Ah, but were all winners, yes?....well, thats what THEY say but if I wouldve been a finalist, THEY would have paid my way to the to the Empower Music awards ceremony and conference that is being held in Orlando in January. Nonetheless, I am proud of the nod and am choosing to think of the Honorable Mention as a positive step forward--and heck, I might just go to the conference anyway and make sure Im seen and heard....what do you think?
