Okay, so technically this isnt your average breakfast smoothie post. But bear with me here. Picture this; Im sitting on my deck, its 27 degrees, but feels more like 30+ and Mr Whippy is jingling his merry tune just a few streets away, whats a girl to do? Well this is what I did...... And I can I say without a word of a lie, this beat a Mr Whippy icecream HANDS DOWNS! I created Nutserella Nutserella is a jar full of frozen bananary, choc-hazelnut, almond, chia deliciousness! There really only one word to describe this new concoction; Devine, irresistible, insane, delicious, wow... Ok thats five words, but it really is THAT good ! Frozen banana Handful of raw hazelnuts Two tablespoons of chia seeds soaked in approx a cup of cold almond milk Extra water if you like it runnier Sprinkle cacao nibs Teaspoon of cocoa powder (cocoa has just 1.7g of sugar per 100grams, but gives that chocolaty taste) Coconut to decorate Soak the chia seeds in the cold almond milk leave in the fridge for about an hour Put the hazelnuts and cacao nibs in the bottom of blender, blast a few times until all is well broken up (into tiny sugar size pieces) Add the frozen banana and also the chia almond milk Lastly add the cocoa then blast, for a couple of minutes Its important to stop start your blender, to allow unblended pieces of fruit to fall towards the blades... If the mixture is too thick for your liking, add small amounts of cold water until desired consistency. Top with flaked coconut And drink, slurp, your way to a cooler you Seriously this is absolutely delicious, its kind of a cross between a smoothie, sorbet, and ice-cream. My advice to you is go soak some chia in almond milk now, and make sure those bananas are frozen because when the heat creeps up youre going to wish you had....
