Okay, so to understand this next bit Ive gotta describe (or remind you of) the layout of my house. 1) We have floor-to-ceiling glass on two walls in the living room/porch that dominates our space. There is a set of sliding glass doors in the kitchen and additional window space in the bedroom and in my office. The main room is certainly dominated by its panoramic view. 2) Our front door has two small window panes up near the top. We have made the mistake of lifting Gilbert to show him the view through those tiny window panes, and he now nightly sits by that door whining pathetically for another look. It is not like this is only way to see outside, not in a house where two of the four walls are all glass. When Gilbert wants to see outside, he can sit, you know, ANYWHERE. Hell, if he wants to see the front yard he can hop up on my desk and use that vantage point; it is THE SAME ANGLE, separated by the width of one wall. Four feet away. But he now wants the view through these panes. So much so that he leaps in desperation to get it. Never shoulda shown it to him.
