Okay, so you never know when someone you have met in your relative distant past jumps in & is willing to help you (ME) when you (I) need it.... thank you... hugs. Please, I want all of you to share with your children, who are younger drivers, my story... do not drive at night with cruise control on, use the brights wherever possible, know what I now do; that a truck is so much safer & projects headlights much further & at a greater distance than a car or low-riding SUV, and that you must be constantly on-the-watch for what may appear... SUDDENLY, and VERY unexpectedly. the night after my accident, I avoided a young doe, who stayed on her side of the road, then an already-done-for Possum (belly-up & stiff), followed by a bunch of sparkly eyes in the road that turned out to be 4-5 very stubborn racoons partying in the middle of the road, and not bright enough to leave the center of the road until i sounded the horn after stopping completely... that was within a 30 mile night-time country drive. One is not used to this when you grow up in the suburbs.... food for thought & discussion with your children -- PLEASE share my story with them.... and, I have more.
