// Okay, somethings been bothering me so Im making a status about it. If you would prefer to remain in ignorance, then you dont have to read this. Recently Ive seen a lot of people bashing feminism, but what they were saying was a misinterpretation. This is the definition of feminism: the advocacy of womens rights on the grounds of political, social and economic equality to men. There is a lot of criticism regarding the merits and representation of feminism, but I feel like a nonsensical quantity of people just dont understand what it actually is. I am a feminist, I support /equality/. I want equal rights for women /and men/. I want to be able to not worry that my gender will render me unable to be successful in a male dominated area. I would like to not be treated like a belonging, but a human being (Im also not saying that /all/ guys treat women like this, but some still do). I could go on forever, but heres my point; feminism is supposed to be about equal rights for everyone, not getting all butt-hurt when some guy makes a sandwich joke. Stop generalizing by saying that youre against feminism, unless you truly believe that we should have lesser rights. I, for one, dont appreciate girls who use feminism as an excuse for things, were not all like that though. On that same topic, I would also like to bring up girls who speak of the male gender as an entirety. I find this disjointed because most of the women that do this are the ones that give feminism its bad name. Guys are not all the same. Girls are not all the same. We are all individual persons, we make our own decisions and choose our own comportment. So why is it okay to talk about men as an ensemble, but not women, because thats anti feminist? Thats bullshit. Feminism is about equality not petty crap. Whatever, this was my rant for today. Im kind of done right now, so I apologize that I didnt put much effort into this when it comes to diverse vocabulary or well thought out paragraphs. Its also /my/ opinion, so disagree all you like, I dont care just dont smear your obliviousness all over my status, please. Ill probably take this down layer anyway, sorry for being opinionated.
