Okay...this is hilarious. Piper just started doing this this summer. Each morning when the chickens are laying eggs and making noise when doing so (which I dont blame them!:)), Piper begins howling at them, obviously trying to communicate with them:). Even though Piper is a bird dog, she would never hurt these hens...she goes right into the chicken coop when we are feeding then or collecting eggs....I think she is more intrigued by them:).
