Okay time to call out our Village President Chris Getty again for something he said. In the Pulitzer prize winning newspaper the Des Plaines Valley News there is an article regarding the circus coming to town. In the article President Getty is quoted as saying the following...The Circus is a memorable event which brings families and our community together. Wait theres more to what he said..I believe it is important that we continue to establish these traditions in our town. Now I would say I believe him whole heartedly yet once President Getty and his administration took office they eliminated almost every volunteer group, board, and committee such as the beautification board and the neighborhood watch program and eliminated events like movies in the park and the music under the tower ( to be fair though he finally brought the music under the tower back only 5 1/2 years after he took office and leading into a campaign season). Perhaps you have some of the folks in town believing you care about community involvement and continuing traditions yet from what I see its nothing more than you and your administration trying to pull the wool over our eyes and make us believe that your for it when all the evidence points to the exact opposite. Perhaps you could reinstate each and every group and committee you axed upon taking office and seek out volunteers from BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES to sit and work on these groups and committees. Oh and again YOU didnt solely bring the circus to Lyons so stop making it sound like you and only yourself was soley responsible for this!!! Whats next youll take credit for parting the DesPlaines River??? Folks come out and enjoy the circus with your families and and remember to have a good time!!!
