Okay, we are fed and showered and in Santa Rosa, New Mexico...after a 49 hour delay in Corning we hit the road at 5:00 PM (PST) yesterday eager to get some miles in...so we pushed south through Bakersfield and then headed east and hooked up with Interstate 40 east and crossed the Mojave at night...began under the watchful waxing moon, but soon caught up with the rain storm that hit SoCal so hard...crossed the Colorado @ 6:00 this morning and came in on fumes, filled up and had breakfast in Flagstaff (NOT snowing but raining at 6900 plus feet - the locals were delighted)...pushed on into New Mexico where I immediately became enchanted with the place and crossed most of it before stopping for no good reason but reason...twenty six hours is a lot and time for a break...we are playing the license plate game and have over thirty States and five Canadian Provinces...I was able to salute Buck Owens crossing Bakersfield and Andy Devine buzzing over Kingman...we stopped in Albuquerque at Mr. Whites former abode and snapped a pic with Audrey out front...have listened to the first four episodes of my first exposure to a Podcast...Serial...oh my, very gripping...and finished up tonights dinner with the very best fresh sopas with honey I have ever tasted...weariness creates the place for a feast...my what a day...a bit more than 24 hours but not a one wasted...goodnight friends
