Okey Nwabueze Godson: Kudos To Governor Willie M Obiano! Anambra launches digital mobile satellite in yet another bid to tackle insecurity In its bid to tackle the challenges of insecurity and insurgency in the country, a metro digital mobile surveillance satellite has been launched in Anambra State with the location at the commercial city of Onitsha. The executive director of the company handling the project, Mr. John Bean, noted that the system would provide the city and its environs with the much-needed intelligence network to checkmate insecurity and also fight crime. Launched at Headbridge, Onitsha, the digital satellite has cameras that have the capacity of covering several kilometres radius within Onitsha. The MOBOTIX M12D-Dual megapixel network with two cameras is equipped with two separate image sensors and a day-to-night lens, depending on the lightening condition. Bean said the metro solution was created for public safety, adding that it has a high capacity network that offers high quality service and superior resistance to interference. He added that because of the challenges of insecurity and Boko Haram insurgency in the country, the need to mount the surveillance digital metro mobile network became necessary so as to give effective monitoring of the security issues in the commercial city. According to Bean, with the system in place, the commercial city would be under serious mobile surveillance. On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Metro Digital Mobile Video Surveillance System, Chief Oliver Uzochukwu, said the choice of Onitsha was because of the commercial activities which he said has increased the population with attendant increase in crime rate. He explained that with the digital cameras in place, it would be easy for security agents to track down criminals even after many days of the incident, adding that the cameras were built with a capacity of over 4.9Ghz to cover several km radius in the city.
