Okiki Oderos OPEN LETTER TO THE KENYAN VOTER. RE : THE AGE OF THE VOTERS CARD IS LONG GONE.(PLEASE READ AND SHARE) I have encountered many a Kenyan who think that they need a Voters Card to vote. This is FAR FROM THE TRUTH! Two things, IEBC no longer issues a VOTERS CARD. Secondly, minimum identification requirement, both for REGISTRATION as a VOTER, and for VOTING, after REGISTRATION is either a NATIONAL ID, or a VALID PASSPORT. The age of the Voters Card is gone! What IEBC currently issues to persons who have REGISTERED is an ACKNOWLEDGEMENT SLIP. An acknowledgement slip is a document that does what its name suggests, it acknowledges that citizen A, B, or C has been REGISTERED AS A VOTER. Lastly, the current constitution has created CONTINUOUS REGISTRATION OF VOTERS. This therefore means that Kenyan citizens have the opportunity to get REGISTERED, continuously, during all the five days of the working week at IEBC OFFICES. Kindly, note.... 1. That REGISTRATION OF VOTERS IS NOW CONTINUOUS. 2. That IEBC no longer issues a VOTERS CARD, but an ACKNOWLEDGEMENT SLIP. 3. That an ACKNOWLEDGEMENT SLIP is not a VOTERS CARD. 4. That TO VOTE, all a VOTER NEEDS TO DO is IDENTIFY HIM/HERSELF using an IDENTIFICATION CARD or VALID PASSPORT. 5. That CONTINUOUS VOTER REGISTRATION targets all persons who HAVE NEVER REGISTERED AS VOTERS (2013 BVR). Kind Regards, Okiki Odero Rege Senior Serving Citizen - REPUBLIC KENYA.
