Oklahoma deer hunter Rut update.....If you hunt for whitetail deer....The 2 weeks you wait all year long for are about to start. With the Full Moon of November 6-7 you will start to really see an increase of Buck sightings in the field......you probably have already seen the little bucks on your trail cams and kicking up dirt at the neighborhood scrapes. Well the big boys are on the move....checking out the does on the food plots....and in those mid day loafing areas. As the ; full moon decreases in size each day that passes....it reflects less light than the night before. This reduction of light each night triggers the deers brain to maximize the breeding instincts. The does may start to fall into heat this weekend.....peaking next weekend and trailing into the opening weekend of gun season. All that combined with colder air moving into the state next week will make the deer woods crawling with deer on the move. Its going to be good for the next couple of weeks so be in the stand.......Hunt where the does are....you will find the bucks there.....not in the sanctuary of his briar filled bedroom.
