Oklahoma is one of nine states where MoveOn members have put up billboards to call out Republican governors for blocking their own constituents from accessing health care—and weve garnered some serious attention. Gov. Bobby Jindals administration in Louisiana has filed suit against MoveOn in federal court for criticizing the governor with the states own tourism slogan.1 Three prime time MSNBC shows covered Medicaid expansion and featured MoveOn in the last two weeks. And even right-wing anti-tax zealot Grover Norquist reacted to the campaign.2 People are taking note and the demands for Medicaid expansion are growing louder. Now, can you make sure Gov. Fallin hears us by calling her office today? Heres the number: Gov. Mary Fallin - (405) 521-2342 Tell the governors office, Im an Oklahoman in support of Medicaid expansion, and I hope the governor saw MoveOns new billboards pressing for expansion this year. Gov. Fallin is in the midst of a re-election campaign and she has to answer for her choices that put politics over people. Medicaid expansion is the right thing to do for more than 144,000 Oklahomans in need of health care.3 And because costs of expansion are almost entirely covered by the federal government, its also the right thing to do for the states bottom line.4 More than 7,000 Oklahoma MoveOn members have already signed petitions calling on Gov. Fallin and the Oklahoma Legislature to expand Medicaid, and hundreds donated to support the new billboards. Lets keep the momentum going by making sure the governor hears us today.
