Oklahoma to host announcement of federal allotment for dam modification The Oklahoma Conservation Commission will host a press conference Friday to announce the allotment of federal dollars that both Oklahoma and as many as 26 other states will utilize for dam rehabilitation. Many dignitaries will be in attendance at the announcement which is set for Lake Perry, not only one of the numerous dams in Oklahoma, but also one that provides municipal water. Executive Director of the Conservation Commission, Mike Thralls, is “very pleased” that Oklahoma was chosen as the host for such an announcement. “We are very pleased that the chief of USDA has chosen our state as the place of the announcement,” said Thralls. “We are also pleased that Governor (Mary) Fallin and (U.S.) Congressman (Frank) Lucas are planning to attend.
