Old-time and new time? I contributed to an Erynn Marshall Kickstarter campaign, and as a result, Erynn wrote the tune “Levy’s Blues” in my honor. I heard her play it for the first time at the Stephen Foster Old Time Music Weekend in 2013. I couldnt figure out how to accompany her at that time. I recorded her playing, and when I got home, I was able to fool around with it, and decided to try it on the 6-string banjo. I don’t get to see Erynn much, so I took advantage of the opportunity to play the tune with her at Midwest Banjo Camp. She is tuned ADAD. I am playing a 6-string fretless banjo built by Ken Bloom tuned aADADE.
