Older, superior technology that was lost through the structure of the capitalist system. Capitalism fosters innovation early within its reign, but as time goes on, capitalism stifles technology and innovation as fewer and fewer people control the capitalist pieces and are able to deny new players all together. That is when things like Kickstarter and GoFundMe allow a partial circumventing of this stranglehold, but for how long? With the buyout of things like Oculus Rift by Facebook almost immediately after being funded, what does that implication hold for these platforms which allow new growth despite what might be good for corporations and their bottom line, and ultimately what is best for the people.
