Ole Therkildsen writes: Erlendur Haraldsson has written about his lectures at the Martinus Institute in November 2013 at the Martinus Centre, Klint in May 2014 where I interviewed Erlendur about his research and his five books as well as his meetings with Martinus and his spiritual science. Erlendur is 81 years old and speaks Danish. Martinus visited Iceland several times in the 1950s and Erlendur heard him give lectures in Reykjavik. He also visited Martinus Institute in Copenhagen. Erlendur Haraldsson was a professor of psychology at the University of Iceland and spent two years at the University of Virginia, USA, where he worked with renowned Prof. Ian Stevenson, who was known by the general public with his book Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation. Stevenson, who was the 20th centurys great researcher into reincarnation introduced Erlendur to these studies and helped him with his first papers on the subject. Prof. Haraldsson has published many articles on the subject and is the author of five books. You can read many of these articles on hi.is/ ~ Erlendur / in both English and Icelandic. Here’s what Erlendur Haraldsson wrote about Martinus and his own recent lectures: Martinus (1890-1981) is a leading spiritual philosopher in Scandinavia who had experiences of cosmic consciousness. Thereafter he wrote extensively about his cosmology and expressed it in beautiful symbols. martinus.dk/da/symbolerne/). His books were an inspiration in my youth, and I came to know him personally in the 1950s. A remarkable man. Recently I gave some lectures at the Martinus Institute in Copenhagen and the Martinus Centre in Klint. Children are sometimes found, particularly in Asia, who claim to remember episodes of a previous life. I presented some cases from Lebanon, Sri Lanka and Iceland, described how they were investigated, their characteristics, and gave an overview of the major findings in this area of research. I have investigated numerous cases of children who claim to remember a previous life, particularly in Sri Lanka, India and Lebanon. My investigations have centred on the question of whether the alleged memories of these children can be verified or falsified and on whether people are found that fit the description made by the children. Various models for interpreting them were discussed. A few cases were presented. Analysis of the contents of these cases reveal interesting features, such as the frequent images/memories of a violent death, the early age of the onset of the images/memories, and the relation of the children to their families. Psychological studies have revealed remarkable differences between them and their peers.
