Olio Also at the funeral home on Wednesday I talked to Melvin and Earl Mallow for the first time in probably forty years. Back in the late 60s and early 70s Petersburg was full of muscle cars and on most Saturday nights when the weather was good there would be drag racing organized somewhere. The location changed, but all you had to do was make a circle around Lindys and somebody would know where the action was. Melvin and Earl were two of the constant participants; and of course Bob Dettinburn and I were usually around. I thought it was really funny when Melvin nodded at The two of us and said, You boys were pretty wild werent you. A beautiful morning here in buckwheat country. I hope we have good weather for the McCartney reunion this weekend in WV.
