Olio Beverly Tompkins posted a recipe for bean cakes on a WV site that looked good and made me think of Dad telling me that before the family moved out to the hard road and acquired such luxuries as electricity and a refrigerator, his mother used to make huge pots of beans which if not eaten soon enough would ferment. She would then make bean cakes with the soured beans and they would eat them with molasses. Dad said he loved them and tried to duplicate the process and her recipe with no luck. At Dotties and there was a mother and daughter. The daughter was probably three or four. Mom asked her what she wanted for lunch and she said bacon. Asked her what she wanted to drink, Diet Coke. So she had bacon and Diet Coke for lunch. Dumb and: A tattoo place in Frederick is broken into and robbed. A surveillance tape has a view of a forearm; a forearm with a tattoo; a tattoo which the owner had done less than a month ago. Duh....
