Our forefathers were definitely brave. They abandoned their homeland where they were suppressed and dictated by a tyrannical king and sailed halfway across the world to a foreign land that was untamed and unsettled and not only willing to face the dangers that lie ahead but willing to die just so that they could live free. It was that important to them! Free to speak up and voice their opinions without fear of retaliation from the government of imprisonment or death, free to be a Christian and worship without persecution . Free to keep and bear arms so that they could protect themselves, their families and property from whomever that may tread on them including a corrupt government. Free to travel about in the country without being molested, harassed and made to show your papers and questioned about who you are, where you coming from or where you going. Free to peaceful assembly to protest when our government gets out of line. When the Constitution was written by our founding fathers it was written by men who had lived in a country where they didnt have these freedoms so they wanted it written into law and protected by the Constitution so that we wouldnt have to go through what they did. Well take a look at our country today and tell me what you see? Are we really free? This country has basically become what our ancestors fought so hard to leave. If anyone tries to gather and protest peacefully you will most likely be arrested for some trumped up charge or at least pepper sprayed or forced to leave. If you walk peacefully down the street bearing arms you will be harassed by the police and all but certain arrested...it is ridiculous that in order to carry a firearm you must pay the government for a permit...that is extortion...so is having to buy a hunting license and a drivers license ...I am sure it was not the intentions of our forefathers when it was written into law that we would have to pay to travel, pay to bear arms and pay to hunt game to feed our families. All of these are god given rights, not just rights allowed by law. There are thousands of driver check points everyday across America where you are stopped and made to your papers, questioned about where you going to and coming from. This is not Nazi Germany people!!! Why the hell have we allowed our freedoms to be taken away when our forefathers worked so hard to give them to us...have they died in vain? In this day and age of big government our constitutional and civil rights are violated everyday, you are presumed guilty and must prove your innocents. In just over 200 years we have all but slipped right back where we started from, all the sacrifices that our forefathers made for our freedoms were for nothing if we dont stand up. And now to top it off we are being forced to buy insurance from our government...IS THAT BEING FREE? It is time for our own revolution, it is time for us to be brave and fight for our liberties guaranteed by the Constitution that are slowly but surely being taken away by this out of control government.
