Olivia begins her fifth season with Girls on the Run today. I am not coaching this time around. Its strange not doing it now, not being in charge. Its hard to let go of things when you invest in them. But I know Oaklyn has several coaches, and I am hopeful that Middleburg has coaches in my absence. It is a blessing to be part of these things, but it is also good to know we are never the only person. Thanks to all the coaches out there, many of whom I know, many I do not. All it takes is a concern for girls, and a willingness to give time. Time being the most precious commodity, it is hardest to give. And thanks to all those who recruit and invite others to share in the gift of coaching. If it werent for a very assertive Cheryl Harnly Stumpf talking to me at a winter run, this would likely never have become part of my life.
