Ollie Pickup Hi, you may be interested in having a read of this eastlancsconcertband.org/history-of-the-band.html it details the history of the east lancs concert band (formerly the accrington old band) The band has been around in some form since 1842 and is still making music today. There are some picture that you might like to post, including one that has a picture of a very young sir harrison birtwistle during his time in the band many years ago. Currently we are heavily involved in the 2014 Accrington Pals Centenary events. We have a few gigs planned for next year and have commissioned a new celebratory piece of music by Dr Peter Meechan.
