Olson House Studies - A huge THANK YOU to Scott R Thorp Photography for inviting me out today to join him at the Olson House in Cushing, ME. I have been an Andrew Wyeth fan for a while, and Im not sure why it has taken me so long to get out here. I saw a great exhibit of Mr. Wyeths watercolors at the National Gallery of Art last year, and was really inspired by his impressions of Maine and especially this house. What an amazing treat. It was so humbling to walk through these doors and to feel the presence of one of Maines great artistic talents, maybe the greatest, and to learn from what he saw and expressed. Andrew Wyeth created art that not only grabs the viewers eyes and attention, but holds them and digs deeper into the psyche, penetrating the daily noise that surrounds us.
