Esie people in kwara state are known for their statues which was discovered some years ago, which they use to celebrate every year where many important dignitaries are invited but in our own case in Egbe our Ajaforunti statue (which no one celebrate or make any sacrifice to it) which was mould by Prof. Akolo was taken to an unknown place which no one can account for it. If you ask many of our young people in Egbe today of where PEPELEBE HILL, OLUWO HILL, IYELAMO SPRING, ILAGA SPRING etc are locate many of us will not know it because our parents have failed to tell us about them. About a month ago when something on EPA (new yam festival, which many town also celebrate) was posted on this page i discovered that many mekunbites were against it, saying it was a way of worshiping idols. Mekun people pls when are we going to embrace our culture and stop all these our holier than pope behaviours.
