Oluremilekun Olatujoye. This was the message I was telling you about yesterday. He said.....fast and pray for the future. GLOBAL COMMUNION SERVICE WITH PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME. 2/11/14 This is the MONTH of NOVEMBER , I would to read a few scriptures starting from the book of Luke. 1.0 JESUS WAS STRENGTHENED And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. (Luke 22:40 KJV) And he was withdrawn from them about a stones cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. (Luke 22:41-42 KJV) And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. (Luke 22:43 KJV) I wonder how could an angel do it. The bible said there appeared an angel unto him. How did the angel strengthen Jesus? And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. (Luke 22:44 KJV) What does this mean? Because of what was going on in his spirit. It was more than experiencing pain; struggling for victory, wrestling to overcome something. Like a spokesman, breaking the limits to win something. He had to go through the pain as it were, for the purpose of victory. Prayed Earnestly means he was more serious about his prayer. Jesus was in struggle for victory. Agonized for victory. Then there came an angel and strengthened him. While you have that in mind I want to show you something. 2.0 WATCH AND PRAY Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy. (Matthew 26:41-43 KJV) For instance you are supposed to be fasting, your spirit may be willing but your flesh is weak, thats why you need to pray. The flesh is going to call for things you shouldnt have at the moment. The flesh will always call for attention. Thats why Jesus asked them to watch and pray. Jesus knew something was coming, prayer was a way to prepare them for what was to happen. The disciples didnt see it, but Jesus knew the challenges they were to face. When you are not repeal read, you can easily give up your faith, and think its ok. He knows you want to do big things for God. Thats why he said pray I referred to you this scripture last year in the month of August, which was month of strentghtening. This month is a month of strengthening but in a different way. 3.0 PHASES OF STRENGTHENING 3. 1 STRENGTH FOR THE JOURNEY There is a long journey ahead, and there is strength for it. 3.1.1 CASE STUDY: PROPHET ELIJAH And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee. (1 Kings 19:7 KJV) The angel told him to get up and eat for there is a long hard Journey ahead. And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God. (1 Kings 19:8 KJV) Look here, just one meal, it kept him for 40 days and 40 nights. Today it does not have to be a physical meal, the word is your food. You need it for the journey ahead. 3.2 STRENGTH FOR THE BATTLE As you go in this journey, there are going to be battles, conflicts of life, you will need the strength. For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me. (2 Samuel 22:40 KJV) Jesus was going to go through a battle, he needed the strength. Notice, the angel strengthened him through prayer. The strength that Elijah got was not exactly from the food, but from the angel. 3.3 STRENGTH FOR THE TIMES We are in special times, in our calendar. These are extraordinary times and demand extraordinary responses. Let me show you something from the book of Daniel. Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days. And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb. Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days. And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb. And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength. For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me. Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me, And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me. (Daniel10:14-19 KJV) What caused this strength? Because when he saw the vision, he lost his strength. Not only did the angel touch him, but he spoke words. This is beautiful. The bible says in the last days perilous times shall come, these are perilous times. I will talk more about this another day. 4.0 ANNOUNCEMENT This what we are going to do this Every friday of this month, starting with this coming friday you will go to church for prayer.
