Omar Abdullah says Article 370 is vital link between India and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called Article 370 an important link between Jammu and Kashmir and India after a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for the upcoming state polls said revoking the article would compel her to take up arms. With elections less than 10 days away, the BJP has decided to repeal Article 370 as part of its manifesto ignoring voices of dissent within the party. Abdullah’s opinions were mirrored by the People’s Democratic Party patron Mufti Sayeed, who said that even Parliament did not have the mandate to review or abrogate the provision that grants special status to the state.
