Omg I just said this!!! Our downfall was desegregation. When we were basically asking resources. We ended up having to entrust our children and their education/mind which was the most valuable thing they had in the hands of people who didnt know them, didnt understand them, didnt care to get to know them and probably didnt like them. And were so brainwashed we think if its white it must be right where our history has taught us how they really feel about us. Then you have acts like no child left behind that promotes passing kids along and fails to teach them hard work, dedication, persistence and other skills that they will need to be successful in todays world. Then you have the common core curriculum telling teachers to be facilitators now and allow students to figure it out themselves (because they remember it better that way?!) but students cant read, comprehend or add without a calculator because they have been passed along the whole way. I could go on for days on flaws in the education system but I need my job. It wont be until I open my own private all girls school that I will be able to be completely honest because the government puts a lot of stipulations on what we can really teach our students. In fact they make those standards so compact that all you have time to do is cram content in hopes that they pass an almost impossibly hard test at the end of the year. Im done.
