Omg just had a big post and lost it all. Anyway I try to do this before Harley loses his patience with me. Just wanted to update. We are at the hospital since 8 am, finally just got Harleys chemo flushed. Trying to get him to sleep! So today was crazy a bit...a lot of hurry up and wait. He went down for his LP (lumbar puncture) with Intrethecal chemo. This phase of treatment is looking hectic! Almost everyday there is chemo and cranial radiation now on top of it, starting April 14, for 8 consecutive rounds. He had 2 new IV chemo and a oral one today. Had a consult with the radiation doc, that freaks me out a bit. They dont like to do radiation on children under the age of 5 because the brain is still developing. And there is a possibility he wont be the same in regards to cognitive function, learning and memory. But the T cell phenotype can be prone to relapse in the CNS(central nervous system) and chemo doesnt penetrate that blood brain barrier as good. Back down there at 8 am to have his mask made so fasting again tonight, chemo again tomorrow. He complained of a headache a little bit but dont stop him from tearing up the hallways here! He also went from high risk to intermediate because his residual disease came back as 0! I pray he will have the strength to keep going like this.
