Omisore Restates Committment to Reconciliation The governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) in Osun state,Senator Iyiola Omisore has restated his committment to an inclusive reconciliation with all segments of the party ahead of the August 9 governorship election. Speaking while receiving islamic leaders from Iwo zone who paid him a solidarity visit at his Ile Ife residence,the PDP flagbearer said he has never for once foreclose reunión with any aggrieved section of the party,promising that ” no sacrifice will be too much to make to defeat the evil APC government in Osun state. ” I understand people wants some clarifications . People are worried about their interests after the primaries. Others want outstanding issues cleared. I understand all these as a long term political player and I assure our party men and women that we are on top of the situation. ” I commend our party leadership for taken the first step towards reconciling all parties. Using the party as a line of contact and reunión is designed to create strong bond,so that one group will not be seen to be dominating the space. That is why I withdraw a bit since the primary . ” Now that the party has inaugurated the reconciliation committee ,I assure party leaders ,members and supporters that I am open to genuine reconciliation that satsfy the interests of all”, the governorship candidate said. On the issue of deputy governorship candidate raised by the visiting islamic scholars ,Senator Omisore said the decision is for the party to make ,describing himself as ” a loyal party man who will aside by decision of the party leadership on the issue . ” My relationship with the people of Iwo dated way back. I have heard your request that I should Pick my running mate from Iwo. I however plead with leaders from any interested towns to work through the party so that whatever decision we take at the end will be fully based on he choice of the party structure”, Omisore said . The leader of the team,Sheikh Imran Adio had earlier presented a letter signed by many islamic leaders in Iwo,requesting the PDP candidate to Pick his deputy governorship candidate from the town . According to the Sheikh,” Iwo deserves the position. We have many qualified sons and daughters who are eminently qualified for the position.
