Omisores Falsehood: the end is yet at sight. - by Adebayo Rasheed Mabayoje The lies are unending. From the recent one that a vote-recount exercise has upturned Governor Aregbesolas August 9 victory to the advantage of Omisore up to the latest twisting of yesterdays reports of the election petition hearing is just the commencement of the next level of Omisores strategy of hoodwink. Now they are trying to move it up further, using their old ways; details later. Basically, the strategy is that; henceforth all handlers of Omisores utterly odious propaganda- the likes of Akintunde BellomSheriff, Ayekoota, Hope Ireti, PDP Dubai, and all- consistently spin yarns of confusion in the state. The objective is that the public must be overwhelmed with lies so that it ultimately seems true as far as the last governorship election is concerned. By so doing, they intend to keep followers within their fold intact against February general elections next year. However they also plan a possibility that they could truncate coming swearing-in of Governor Aregbesola by causing a big confusion, riots such that would encourage an unconstitutional use of force from the center. Premise have been laid through most resent related insidents where they twisted an Akure court verdict that the 2011 Assembly election has been nullified; thence they hire some hoodlums to cause some chaos at the Osun Assembly. It is also relevant to relate the lies they also spun that the winner of the August 9 governoship election - Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola sought re-run of the election he convincingly won! By such lies of theirs, they are painting an illogicality of the mother of a new child asking that her baby be killed to prove to the world that she is not sterile! Osun people and the entire Nigeria should be on guard. The making of some unprecedented political history that started shortly before last August election in Osun is still underway. One can only say here that perhaps the part one only ended by the failure of the Omisore/PDP plans to effect a long civilian coup. The unprecedented deployment of over 73,000 security operatives (genuine ones and otherwise) as well as the harrassment and intimidation of the electorate were part of the failed plans. They are now matching further with such brazen confidence and consistence; such that some Nigerian media have become willing Instruments of their illegality. AIT is the latest of such; going by the hoopla on its electronic platform recently. The retraction by the station is crocodile tears. How dare the first independent TV station in Nigeria carry such falacies, only to later go on its knees begging after 21the havoc must have been done! But for the fact that Aregbesola really won the election, the Omisore/PDPs latest strike via the boot of AIT would have scored a damaging goal against Nigerias democracy. In essence, that the AIT story did not fly beyond its extent is a reassuring prove that Osun people returned their governor- Aregbesola for a second term. More lies will still come from the oppositions camp. More yarn of confusion and disorganisation is expected to be spun. Unwarranted hues and cries are expected to come from them in successive sequences- all aimed at ensuring that Aregbesola is not sworn-in for his second term in office. Osun people and discerning Nigerians are wise and would not be fooled. Accomplices of Omisore/PDP should only know that they stand the chance of occupying a smelling side of history. Nigerians and the world is watching; knowing much well that eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.
