I suffered a brain injury 2.5 years ago, due to a assault and battery at work. It has basically ended my career. After years of denial, I have finally accepted the fact that I will never be the same. Having a brain injury is like being lost without a road map, not sure which road to take and trying to navigate on your own. I have also discovered that many of the so called EXPERTS in neurology have no clue as to how we as the injured have to live. They, the experts continue to read from a script of what they learned in school, rather than listen to the patient. I did find some good care at the end of my journey looking for care. It was at the Brain injury clinic at St. Joseph Hospital, in Ypsilanti Michigan. I am not sure what the future holds for me. In some ways I have improved, in others I have not.
