On 08-21-13 at 12:45 pm, the Huck’s convenient store located at 506 Saint Frances Street reported a robbery to the Kennett Police Department. The Huck’s employee reported that a tall stocky built black male, wearing a grey T-shirt with grey pants and a black bandana on his head, came into the store and reached into the cash register, grabbing an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect ran north from the store and left in an older model gray Buick that was parked behind the store. The vehicke is further described as having a blue rag top. On 08-21-13 at 10:54 am, Kennett officers arrested 32 year old Thomas Lee Simmons at his residence located on Henderson Street in Kennett. Simmons was arrested for Burglary charges that were previously filed on him. During a search of Simmons residence, officers located several items that were reported stolen during the reported burglary and items from previous incidents. Officers also located marijuana and a marijuana plant that was being grown inside the residence. Simmons is being held in the Dunklin County Jail on Burglary and various drug charges.
