On 18 Mar, CARE Package Central will pack up 25 Easter themed care packages for shipment to far away places like Djibouti, Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, Kuwait, and Kyrgyzstan. All sorts of goodies have been gathered and are still trickling in. Jelly beans, chocolate bunnies, stuffed bunnies, marshmallow eggs, peeps, decorations, cadbury eggs, Easter baskets, coffee cups filled with coffee & cappuccino, gifts bags filled with 9 different kinds of cookies, drink mix gift bags....WHEW!!! So many things! More importantly...so much LOVE! This effort COULD NOT & WOULD NOT be possible had it not been for the heartfelt support of family and friends across the Nation from Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas, The District of Columbia, California, Illinois, Virginia, and Maryland. As of late yesterday, funding for the shipment of the last 9 boxes came rolling in!! Throughout the day, donations were received from faithful supporters: Mary Lent (funded 3 packages) and Johnny Hamm (funded 1 package). These two donations will cover the shipment of 4 packages. First time donations from Rosey Griswold in Pennsylvania & Nancy Walsh-Boeder in Wisconsin were received in the mail as well. These 2 donations will cover the last 5 packages!! There are still a few more items to purchase, but were in GREAT shape and will be ready to pack on the 18th! THANK YOU ALL for sharing our passion in caring for our deployed military personnel. We are humbled & honored to manage these shipments....sending love & support on your behalf to those who sacrifice beyond measure.
