On 20th June, my journey to the alpine area began. The first destination is Mt. Balang, about 250 km west of Chengdu. The road has been destroyed many times by the 2008 earthquake and many aftershocks. This time the road was ruined again by flood and landslide, I had to wait till it was fixed. Totally different from the hot and humid subtropical Chengdu Plain, it was snowing at the summit of Mt. Balang, which is 4500m above sea levels. Around the summit, the best alpine meadow in China can be found, and I will post the plants I photographed here later, there are so many of them...
