Stagecoach have provided the best quote for the service and we will be awarding an 18 month contract for the service to them. We still have a few things to iron out with regards to journey pricing etc but will have that resolved in time for the new service in January. Whilst the new service is running we will look at other options for the 36 and the other tendered services that we operate that can hopefully assist residents in the future. Can we arrange a meeting to discuss along with representatives from Stagecoach ? On 26 Nov 2014, at 16:43, will.dawson> wrote: Hi Jim, Sorry was mobile when I sent the last message. Its very early days and the plan is too run the service as is for the time being so we really do not have much to speak to Stagecoach about at this time. John will be doing all the background technical stuff with them and if anything comes up that would be of interest to MoMtra, then we will pass this on. The only thing that I would reiterate to residents is that for the next 18 months the service will need to be backed and used. John and his team will be monitoring the usage and financials of the service very closely during the remaining time with National Express and when Stagecoach takes over. If it is not used or usage declines, then it may be that in 18 months time, we cannot support it again. Therefore as I discussed and agreed with you at the public meeting, it really is a use it or lose it scenario. Having said that, I have already tasked John with looking 18 months ahead as I am hoping that residents do use it. If they do, we have some ideas with the other services that we have a control of which would hopefully further assist residents . I have a few ideas and so does the team and we will come to you with those when they are worked up in fuller detail. I also believe that a John Berry should meet with residents to discuss the best use of the Travel budget, the 208 service is poorly used, any funding used to support this could be used to enhance the current provision of services in the NE of the city.
