On 27 September the British Embassy Kabul Defence Section and the British Council had the distinguished pleasure to hand over control of 2 English Language Centres at the Afghanistan Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the National Military Academy of Afghanistan (NMAA) to the Afghanistan Foreign Language Institute (AFLI). Over the past 2 years these centres have provided English language training for over 370 students, ranging in rank from Sergeant to Lieutenant General. The Centres currently provide a selection of ten courses and also support self-access courses for all levels of ability. The courses are available to any Afghanistan MOD or NMAA student interested in learning or improving their English language skills. This partnership emphasises the commitment of AFLI and the British Government to the continued professional development of Afghanistans forces, in order to develop and support international relationships into the future.
