On 5 December, the General Assembly of the United Nations accepted the resolution on the protection of health facilities and personnel, which “strongly condemns all attacks on medical and health personnel (un.org/ga/search/view_doc.asp?symbol=A/69/L.35&referer=/english/&Lang=E), their means of transport and equipment, as well as hospitals and other medical facilities, and deplores the long-term consequences of such attacks for the population and health-care systems of the countries concerned”.
