On 9/26, the National Park service had this to say - The National Park Service’s contingency plan says: Effective immediately upon a lapse in appropriations, the National Park Service will take all necessary steps to close and secure national park facilities and grounds in order to suspend all activities except for those that are essential to respond to emergencies involving the safety of human life or the protection of property…Where ever possible, park roads will be closed and access will be denied. Apparently, Obama appointee, Johathan Jarvis, didnt mean the fossil fuel industry when he said suspend all activities except...emergencies involving safety of human life. This more recent article is about a Democratic Rep in Arizona who is sending a petition around to have the restrictions apply equally to all. Novel idea, i know, but there you have it. I just include this little eyeopener to show that removing water tap handles from popular visitor destinations was intended to piss people off at Republicans while sneaking the oil drillers in was to make sure that the important people dont get ticked off. I have no doubt that were the Republicans running the National Park Service, they would have done precisely the same thing to manipulate public sentiment. I dont care for it whoever does it.
