On ACA and Obamas press conference today - I dont think theres any other way to spin it. Setting aside the discussion of the necessity of insuring all Americans and how to best accomplish it, ACA is a disaster. Theres no way to put lipstick on this pig. And sadly today, watching our President, its clear he is in over his head and unsure how it will unfold. But, the cracks didnt appear overnight. Its been years since this Act was constructed and then implemented. And its unforgivable, that as the cracks revealed themselves, Obama and his team ignored them and chose to barrel through. He has failed our country. And the buck stops with him. Now, GOP dont be so quick to be gloating. The only person less popular than Obama, remains the GOP and its leadership. And any overreach and abhorrent glee will surely backfire. Mark my words. But for me anyway, the take-away is the person running our country has to have experience. Not a cool brand. Not someone who says the right things and manages optics. Charles Cook writes at the National Review that ACA could be the worst domestic policy disaster ever. Hes not wrong. Its unclear if theres a way to make this poorly written, poorly thought through, poorly constructed, poorly implemented act ever work. Its entirely possible it will work. And entirely possible it will fall apart. What is clear, it that even President Obama doesnt know the answer to that question tonight. And for me, that uncertainty is not just unacceptable, but unforgivable.
