On April 19, 2008 I lost a huge piece of my heart. She was the rock of our family, a sweet Island Girl that passed on her knowledge and love to her family. One moment I was on the phone with her listening to her struggle for her last breaths in a hospital room in NC, and just 2 minutes after I got off the phone, on my knees praying - transporting myself as close to her as possible in deep thought in my bedroom here in CT -- I felt the power of her Spirit explode into everything around me. A complete rush of peace and magnificent glory filled my heart. In that moment I could even smell her skin. My mother called me right back and said Grandmama Arlene is gone sweetheart, I told my mom that she was not gone that she was EVERYWHERE, and I could feel her presence in everything around me, that is how powerful her spirit was in the Lord. Her love moved through space and time completely and had a joy unspeakable that only a heart wide open could experience. I am so fortunate to have not let my anguish of loosing her in this world block my heart so that I could experience her love moving through eternity and this world. That is what God is, joy unspeakable eternally -- no space or time can bound his power beyond the grave. For all those suffering through the death of a loved one - know that we live on beyond this world.
