On April 22, 1889, CFD Pipeman Harvey Bean, Engine 32, died in the line of duty after he broke his back while exercising in quarters. On April 22, 1924, CFD Lt. Claus C. Clausen, Engine 87, died in the line of duty from a heart attack while serving as Honorary Pallbearer at Fireman Jeremiah Callaghans funeral (FM Callaghan was killed at the Curran Hall Fire on April 18, 1924). Lt. Clausen, 54, a member of the CFD for more than thirty years, was the only member of Truck 11 who survived the Union Stockyards Fire in 1910. He was survived by his widow and one son. On April 22, 1927, CFD Fireman John Prill, Engine Co. 90, died in the line of duty in a fall while washing windows in quarters. FM Prill, 50, was survived by his widow and four children. On April 22, 1965, CFD Fireman John J. Caplis Badge, Truck 29, died in the line of duty from a heart attack. Fm.
